Trade for prosperity

Trusted mobility support – Mobility not disability
More than 7.7 million people in the UK live with mobility challenges1. For many, the NHS wheelchair service is the first step – but it’s not the only one. If you’d like more choice over your equipment, or you’re not eligible for NHS support, AJM Choice offers friendly, expert advice and a range of private solutions tailored to your needs.

Who are AJM Choice?

Your private mobility partner – backed by NHS clinical expertise

AJM Choice is the private mobility arm of AJM Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading NHS wheelchair service providers. We’ve been helping people for over 40 years, and our friendly expert team is here to make life that little bit easier.

  • General mobility and wheelchair provision
  • Specialist seating and postural support
  • Complex neurological or paediatric needs
  • Full support packages, including assessment, personalisation, servicing and aftercare

Whether you’re living with a changing condition or simply looking for equipment with extra features, AJM Choice helps you access the equipment you need, faster.

 Private support, your way

You don’t need to go through the NHS to get our support – we’re here for everyone, whether you’re arranging equipment for yourself, a loved one, or someone you care for.

Our Field Advisors can even visit you at home to show you the equipment in person, making sure it fits your space and suits your lifestyle before you decide. We’ll take the time to talk through your needs, demonstrate options, and make sure you feel confident in your choice.

From simple, everyday wheelchairs to highly adaptable models with advanced features, we’ll help you find something that’s comfortable, practical, and truly yours.

“Our role is to listen, assess and provide solutions that truly reflect the individual,” says Michaela White, Clinical Manager at AJM Choice. “Tailored support means taking the time to understand what’s right — clinically, practically and personally.”

Personal Wheelchair Budgets – Your Right to Choose

(Design: Contrasting box with icon – e.g. wheelchair, clipboard etc.)

Since 2019, anyone supported by an NHS wheelchair service has the right to request a Personal Wheelchair Budget (PWB). A PWB gives you more control over the mobility equipment you receive, including the option to work with a trusted private provider like AJM Choice.

This flexible funding route allows you to:

  • Select equipment not available through standard NHS provision
  • Add features or upgrades tailored to your clinical and lifestyle needs
  • Combine NHS funding with private top-ups to access more specialised support

AJM Choice can help you make the most of your PWB, from clinical assessments to equipment supply and ongoing support.
