Trade for prosperity

The National Pharmacy Association and other pharmacy groups are mounting a campaign to Save Our Pharmacies

Well over 350,000 people have signed our petition calling for fair funding – to safeguard NHS pharmacy services and ensure local pharmacies have a future”

In England, 1,400 community pharmacies have closed in the last decade, due to cuts in government funding and rising costs. Seven pharmacies are closing a week and three quarters are in the red. Pharmacies have also closed in Wales and Northern Ireland. And in Scotland pharmacies are under immense pressure too.

The National Pharmacy Association and other pharmacy groups are mounting a campaign to Save Our Pharmacies. We want to thank the many patients, customers and concerned citizens who have already supported us.

Well over 350,000 people have signed our petition calling for fair funding – to safeguard NHS pharmacy services and ensure local pharmacies have a future.

Here are some of the lovely things you’ve said about your local pharmacies:

“Pharmacies are part of the lifeline of NHS services so critical for us all.”

“They are our lifeline while it’s so difficult to get to see or talk to a GP.”

“Without them many people would struggle with their health as it removes the easy access to medication locally.”

“Community Pharmacy is a vital part of the wellbeing of our communities and an amazing support to our healthcare services.”

“Our pharmacies are invaluable to us and need proper funding.”
