Definition –Alpha Hydroxy Acids

AHAs, or alpha hydroxy acids, are a group of exfoliating acids that speed skin cell turnover, promoting softer, healthier looking skin. AHAs include citric, lactic and glycolic acids. They gently dissolve dead cells from the surface of your skin, which not only makes skin feel softer, but can visibly brighten dark spots, promote collagen production, and reduce the appearance of surface lines and wrinkles.

Good for Dark spots/Fine lines/Dry skin

Ceramides are a type of fatty acid known as a lipid, and they naturally make up around 50% of the outer layer of your skin. Ceramides lock moisture into the skin, repairing the moisture barrier, to promote plump, hydrated, healthy skin.

Know Your Skin

The Moisture barrier:

This is the outermost layer of skin, otherwise known as the stratum corneum. This layer protects and helps to retain natural oils, nutrients and moisture. When your moisture barrier is healthy, your skin looks and feels supple, plump and hydrated. When your moisture barrier is damaged, your skin can feel dry, rough or easily irritated.

Collagen is a protein found in abundance throughout the body, and especially skin. Collagen gives skin its strength, structure and firmness. Used in skincare, collagen can help stimulate the production of new collagen in skin, renewing cells and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Good for Fine lines/Dehydrated/Dry skin

Contains: Collagen, Peptides, Niacinamide.

Use: Every morning, for strong, hydrated, glowing skin and to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Glycerin doesn’t sound like a sexy skincare ingredient, but it draws water into itself and into the skin, making it the perfect skin hydrator. Glycerin also helps to repair the moisture barrier, leaving skin healthier, firmer and more hydrated.

Use: Apply daily for a luxurious moisture hit that will give skin a plumper, firmer, glowing appearance, to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect and restore skin. Niacinamide can even out skin pigmentation, minimise the appearance of large pores, and help restore the skin’s moisture barrier. This gentle molecule is appropriate for almost all skin types.

Good for Dry Skin / Dehydrated

Contains: Pentapeptide, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E.

Use: Every day for smooth skin and a plumped, hydrated glow.

This highly potent form of vitamin A is one of the most powerful skincare ingredients on the market. It penetrates deep into the layers of skin to boost collagen production, repair damage, and increase skin cell turnover. This means that retinol can reduce hyperpigmentation, clear out congested pores, and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This powerful ingredient can cause sensitivity, so make sure you use an SPF.

Good for Enlarged pores/Dull skin/Dehydrated/Dark spots/fine lines

Use: Every night whilst you sleep, to renew cells and hydrate so you can wake up to refreshed, glowing skin.

Definition – Sun protection factor

Sun damage is one of the biggest risks to skin health, and even incidental sun exposure – through, say, a car window, or on a short walk outside – can add up. Sun radiation iscomposed of a number of wavelengths. UVA sun radiation causes skin cells to age. UVB sun radiation damages the DNA in your cells directly, causing sunburn and potentially the

majority of skin cancers. Everyone needs to wear a broad spectrum SPF, that protects against both UVA and UVB radiation, everyday, no matter your skin colour.

Good for Absolutely every skin type

Contains: SPF, Niacinamide, Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid in a light-as-air texture.

Use: Apply every morning to moisturise and prime all skin types – makeup can be applied instantly due to the non-greasy texture.

Know Your Skin Melanocytes

These are cells in your skin that contain melanin, a pigment that gives skin its colour. Sun damage can cause melanocytes to overproduce melanin, leading to patches of unwanted pigmentation.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help to protect skin against environmental pollution and UV damage – alongside a broad spectrum SPF.

It can also block overproduction of pigmentation, making it perfect for visibly brightening and toning skin. This powerhouse ingredient also stimulates the production of collagen deep within the skin, to help minimise fine lines and wrinkles.
